The Futures Center at Pueblo County High started in 1992 and continues to service the students today. Our mission is to find scholarship applications for the seniors. The Futures Center searches for scholarships that our students could qualify for. At the beginning of the school year, the seniors fill out a profile sheet and other information is given to them. As the scholarships come in, the information from the profile sheets and the scholarship criteria is searched to see if there are any matches. Then the student is sent a memo, which the student is to take back to the Futures Center. The scholarship application or the web site is given to the student and it is up to the student to continue the process. The Futures Center also posts scholarships and any essay contests in the display case or windows, so the students can see if they are interested in anything.
The Futures Center helps the seniors as much as possible to get information on a scholarship or college so the student can take the information home and talk to their parents. The center does not counsel the students in any way about scholarships or colleges.
