Pueblo County High School Bulletin for Wednesday, February 20, 2019

College Visits Seniors and Juniors- Representatives from Metro State University, Adams State University and the Colorado School of Mines will be coming for visits in February. Log on to Naviance for more information and to register to attend.

SAT Prep Classes Free SAT Prep Classes will be held to help prepare you for the SAT Test. The first class will be on Friday, February 22nd, from 9-11 AM. The topic will be English/Reading. Stop by the counseling office to sign up for the class or get get more information. All students are welcome to attend; however, it is especially important for juniors to attend since they will be taking the SAT on April 9th.

STEP Program Juniors-IF you are applying for the STEP program remember all your paperwork is due to your counselor by March 4, not March 14th. You also must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 to apply. Check this on power school or with your counselor.

Scholarships in Naviance Seniors, the counselors would like to make you aware of some changes to the Scholarships page in Naviance. First, we have found that there seems to be some issues when using Chrome as the web browser when viewing scholarships. We suggest using Safari. Also, did you know that you can sort scholarships by deadline? Just click the “deadline header” and it will sort them for you. Make sure you are looking at the scholarship page as we have added several new scholarships!

GIRLS GOLF Girls Golf: For anyone interested in playing girls golf this Spring, we will be having an important meeting immediately after school on Thursday of this week in Mr. Koshak’s room. We will be discussing the practice schedule for the first week as well as other important information. If you plan on playing, please plan on attending this meeting or seeing Mr. Koshak during the week. Thank you! 

Colorado Mesa Visit A Rep from CMU will be here on Wednesday February 27th. Seniors, if you plan on going to CMU and have questions, this would be a good opportunity to speak with admissions. Also, Seniors that have not decided on a college or other students that want information feel free to sign up on Naviance as well.

GIRLS TENNIS Any girl wanting to play tennis this spring, please see Mr. Osborne for the Uniform order information. The sooner they are in, the faster we will get them. 

Academic Awards Assembly The Academic Awards Assembly for students who earned honor roll or had perfect attendance first semester will be held on March 14. There are posters with the names of these students in the Commons and on the bulletin board outside the counselor’s offices. Please check for your name and information and let Ms. Vezzani know if you have any questions or corrections.

MAMMA MIA Only 8 more days until the opening of Mamma Mia. 

Evergreen Charter Bus Students there is a charter bus going to Evergreen for the boys playoff game tonight. The bus will leave the school at 3:30. The first 50 students who sign up with Mrs Harrison or Mr. Downs and pay will get a seat. Cost is $10.00 per person.

MAMMA MIA SPIRIT WEEK Spirit Week for Mamma Mia is March 4 – 7th with the show being on Thursday the 7th! Tickets are $8.00 and will run from 1:00 – 3:30. Don’t miss out on the fun!
